Before Your Flight

Everything to know before leaving home: check-in, baggage rules and getting to the airport.

Check-in & Boarding Pass

Online check-in opens 24 hours before departure with most airlines. Self-service kiosks in the terminal print your boarding pass and bag tags. Desks close 45 minutes before domestic and 60 minutes before international flights.

Baggage & Liquid Rules

Cabin liquids must be in containers of 100 ml or less inside one transparent 1-litre bag. Power banks and spare lithium batteries must travel in cabin baggage. Your allowance is on your ticket; paying for excess baggage online is cheaper than at the desk.

When Should I Arrive?

We recommend arriving 2 hours before domestic and 3 hours before international flights. Add 30–45 minutes during holidays and summer peaks. Check the live wait times on our homepage before you set off.

02

At the Airport

Services that make your time in the terminal easy and enjoyable.

Security & Passport Control

Place electronics and your liquids bag separately on the X-ray belt. E-passport holders can use the automated gates. With a Fast Track ticket you skip the queue through a dedicated lane.

Free Wi-Fi & Charging

Unlimited free Wi-Fi covers the whole terminal — connect to “SGIA_WiFi_Free” and verify by SMS. Charging points are available in the gate areas.

Accessible Airport

Passengers with reduced mobility get free wheelchair and escort assistance — please notify your airline at least 48 hours before flying. The terminal features hearing loops and tactile guidance paths.

Travelling with Family

Baby-care rooms on both levels, kids’ play areas airside and a family-priority security lane. You can keep your stroller until the aircraft door.

03

After Your Flight

Everything about baggage, lost property and onward travel after you land.

Baggage Claim

Your carousel number is shown on the flight information screens. If your bag doesn’t arrive, report it at the Lost Baggage office in the claim area with your tag — you can track your file online.

Lost Property

Items found in the terminal are kept by Lost Property for 90 days. File a report online and, once found, have your item couriered to your address.

Onward Travel

The M4 metro, Havabus and İETT buses, and taxis all depart from the arrivals level; Havabus runs regular shuttles to Taksim and Kadıköy. 20 car rental companies operate 24/7 in the arrivals hall.
